Wow, that was way more than I needed to know! Good job! Now I won't have
to open the cover of my tuner when it arrives.
What I am more interested in is the frequency response in digital mode, and
how bad the digital compression sounds. (pre-echo, squeaking, mushy hihats)
XM has left me sourly disappointed.
I'm also wondering whether the usual annoying analog compression (volume
level constantly at maximum due to compressors and limiters) is present on
the digital feed. From what I heard in my brief demo, the digital and
analog had the same volume level, indicating they had the same damn
compression.
I imagine this would vary from station to station, depending on how much of
a purist their engineers are. That is, unless ibiquity has some evil
mandate, which they probably do.
