Some other devices you might check out are the Neuston MC-500 (Scan
sells it, I think) and the entertainment/media devices from network
hardware makers such as Netgear and D-Link.

don't buy many more CDs these days as I already have most of the music I
want. I would expect hard drive technology to improve a lot faster than
the rate at which my CD collection grows.
I only mentioned it because -- for example -- Kiss makes
DVD-player-cum-music-servers with 40 and 80 Mbyte of storage (the
second of which might meet your target), but hints darkly that it
doesn't want you going inside and replacing the hard drive. Unless you
reckon your interests are frozen for all time, it would be only
sensible to allow room for expansion. But even without that, easier
reception and cheaper recording of broadcasts might encourage you to
start collecting, say, live performances too.
