Hi everybody,

broadcasting begins

I give you news

June 2nd (2006)

The German DMB service has been launched with broadcasts which
initially will serve Berlin, Frankfurt (Main), Köln, München and
Stuttgart. The package is being marketed under the brand name
"watcha". MFD, the company licensed to conduct the transmissions,
hopes to expand the coverage area to include "40 to 45 towns ...
around 25 million people" by the end of 2006. Several Internet forums
and media outlets have commented on the fact that the single "radio"
programme included in the multiplex is being broadcast in MPEG4/AAC+.

It's good to see AAC+ being used. The start of things to come, I reckon...
And it makes perfect sense to use AAC+ when the mobile TV channels are using
AAC+ for their audio channels.
