Re: Republic of Mike Terry

With respect to you, I meant the ability to compromise in general is
obviously something you're lacking

Yawn.
So I can add the disability to cope with criticism. Our Uebermensch
Steve is perfect

I understood you're so boring you're lblocked by the switch boards
of many radio stations

Whoever told you that is simply a liar.
I trust my source more than I trust you.

So, you trust someone from the UK DAB industry, which is the industry
that advertises DAB as providing "superb digital quality sound" etc etc?
I see your sources are the most honest people in the world.

The DRDB started refusing to answer my calls about 2 - 3 years ago. And
I've only rung them up once since then to ask them for some info, and
they were fine.

I am not and have never been from speaking to any other organisations,
and your original assertion is wrong:

Yawn. (I've learned a new word)

And the fact that the BBC Digital Radio department and the DRDB "banned"
me isn't really that surprising, is it? After all, they want to damage
my credibility as much as possible, so banning me is a good way of going
about it. Would you not agree? I know from European sources that people
from WorldDAB say that my website cannot be trusted, and that's just
what has got back to me. And I'd LOVE to know what else is said about
me. It's hardly going to be a fair reflection of my knowledge or points
of view, is it? If you think it is, then get your head out of your arse
and wake up to the fact that DAB supporters have been very dishonest in
the way they represent DAB around Europe.

Yawn

I get an inkling of the way I'm portrayed when I've spoken to the editor
of the EBU Tech Review, because it seemed that he must have asked about
about me after I contacted him the first time, and he seems to be of the
opinion that I'm just some audiophile with a grudge against DAB, but he
seems to think I don't understand anything technical. You know the sort,
there's plenty of anoraks around the profess that they know what they're
talking about when it comes to broadcasting systems, and many if
haven't got a clue what they're going on about -- even some of the
people that work on the systems themselves haven't got a clue, Croiset
for instance.

No one portrayes you, you do it all on your own. From your postings I
conclude that you at least have some knowledge about digital radio,
coding schemes, transmissions and so on. I can not realy judge, since
it is not my discipline. It is your attitude, your arrogance, the way
you think you only have the truth (like fundamentalism in religion),
not accepting that other forces also play a rol. Furthermore you're
impolite and rude in the postings. This also happened in the current
thread. Although you gave me lots of opportunities to reply in the
same way, I remained polite,

Anyway, getting back to being banned: at the end of the day, you
remembered that I was "blocked by the switch boards of many radio
stations", which shows how effective a tool that is to slur someone's
character, because you have remembered it from so long ago. It would be
interesting to know how many people that individual has mentioned this
to overall.

btw the source that mentioned you were blocked, also mentioned you
have proven technical skills. Since you cliam this person is a liar, I
can not trust this remark anymore??

The difference in the overall cost of using a system as a result of
using a slightly more complex service structure is so small it can be
ignored.

Typically a reaction of a Hardware guy ignorant about SW develloment

RF transmitters
Transmitter installation costs
Data links to the transmitters
Data links to the multiplex operator
Staff costs of multiplex operator
Maintenance costs of transmitters
Multiplex operator premises
Multiplex operator's fixed costs
Audio codecs per station
Digital multiplexer
Energy costs for transmission

I repeat: The difference in the overall cost of using a system as a
result of using a slightly more complex service structure is so small it
can be ignored.

Yawn

"At last, with respect to all comparisons made between DVB-H and
T-DMB/DAB. They are all more or less biased. The person or
organisation behind it already tells the outcome of the comparison."

You forgot: "So for sure, each "article" from mr DAB don Quichotte
will be negative on DAB"

Including that sentence does not make the previous 2 sentences humourous
all of a sudden.

Because you don't know who this don Quichotte is? If you did, you
would understand the irony. Or are you the only one who may be ironic
/ sarcastic??

I would not mind at all if you lectured me about SW stuff. I am telling
you not to lecture me about modulation, FEC coding and audio coding,
because I understand these subjects better than you do. Is that
understood?

Normally I refrain from discussion / lecturing about the technical
issues I don't understand. I'm even not interested in them. That is
however not because you tell me. You have no right of say about what I
do. The only one who has, is my wife.

I had my fun with you and we are going around in circles, I stop this
discussion. I have to focus on my work again, developing a DVB-H
receiver. At that must satisfy you

Oh and Steve, there is much more than Digital Radio. Women, fast cars,
nature (last 2 are conflicting), culture and so on. Enjoy life before
it is too late ;-)
