Because I believe your reaction is not entirely sensible. Most of us know
that flat, and for that matter many English words, have several meanings.
Most of us put things in context and draw the correct conclusion.
You have already admitted to being totally ignorant of what DAB radio sounds
like on a 'flat' system. Most people refer to the sound as being flat and
lifeless, I know I have, and no one has ever been sufficiently pedantic to
clutch at your flimsy straw of an argument. Even John Porcella has not taken
issue with it.
