FBI vehicles

I used to work for a company whose credit union could get us new
cars at $100 over cost. We would get the name of a participating
dealer and would then go order one from them. It was always a
dealership in a small town within around 200 miles of the city my
company was located. I ordered a new Chevy Vega (one of the worst
cars ever made) from one of these dealers in a very small town.
Upon making the deal, I told him to not put his dealer sticker on
the back of the car. I didn't tell him why, but I didn't want
people to think I was from his hick town. They usually bradded a
metal dealer emblem to the car's rear, so I knew that if I didn't
stop them, I would not be able to remove it without leaving two
ugly holes where it had been. The dealer told me that he wouldn't
be able to stop the service people from putting it on there, but
that it would be a glue sticker and that I could just peal it off.
He then went on to say that the FBI had ordered some cars from him
in the past and when they had come to pick them up, they spotted
that the dealer had bradded their metal dealer emblem to the rear
of the cars. The FBI said that their car could not have anything
identifiable on them, so the dealership had to remove them and
patch/repaint over the holes. Since then they always used glue
dealer emblems.
So FBI cars can actually be more readily identified by the fact
that they will not have a dealer's emblem. Practically every car I
see has a one.
