competative co-operation, trading access to each other's "markets", those
markets being you and me as both product and consumer.

Don't forget that the original war, which has never ended, was between
"the people" and those who seek to control them. Why, then, is it such a
strange idea that as the world's population expands and technology
transforms, those at the top of various trees will tend to draw together
as their worlds shrink to protect their collecive and individual
interests?

Its not so much that I "believe" this (a clumsy religious term if there
ever was one) as, I'm pretty sure that something like this isn't too
difficult to see happening, but is something that is easily disguised as
something else for those who want to see that something else instead of
how humans have tended to organise themselves for a very long time.

As this type of "great game" has been going on since at least the
establishing of the Chin Dynasty, its not too much of a stretch of
credibility to observe it still going on, and at a far more sophisticated
level.

So, you /don't/ think this is happening?
