Actually, you're terribly wrong. Not ONE of the softwares on your
pages offer what Truecrypt offers. Truecrypt is unique for numerous
reasons. Either your working knowledge of this type of software is
severely limited, or your vision is severely narrow.

Not a single person, besides Nemo, is spreading any FUD here.

The FUD fingerprint is clear. If nemo_outis was only pushing his
"formal review good, open source review bad" story, one might be
able to believe that this is just a difference of opinion. When
he goes on to lie about things that are qunatifiable and easily
verified, it shows that he is interested in advocacy, not truth.
A good example of an easily checkable lie is his claim that
Winmagic can do everything the Truecrypt can do, when Winmagic
only runs on Windows, not Linux. Running an encryption program
on Microsoft Windows is like installing a solid steel security
door with a case-hardened lock on a big cardboard refrigerator
box. In the rain.

Let's get real here. We all know that governments can force crypto
providers to put in back doors by threatening to lock them away
forever without being charged and torture them. We all know that
orgainized criminals can bribe crypto providers to put in back
doors. We all know that someone working at a crypto provider
can put in a back door without the boss knowing about it. And
we all know that these back doors would be installed after the
independent reviewers finish. If the crypto provider is Winmagic,
we are hosed. It it's Truecrypt, there is a very real possibility
that someone will notice the back door in the source code. Open
source isn't just a good way to find flaws; it is an absolute
necessity in a world where governments and criminals can bribe or
threaten crypto providers. You can only trust that which you have
compiled yourself.
