The problem is that most of the calls I refer to are pre-recorded
messages. You never have a chance to talk to a live person.
I just set the phone down far enough away that I can't hear the voice,
but close enough that I can hear the beeping when the other party
hangs
up. Let them waste their dimes all day if they like.
Why tie up your phone for them? I give my callers 2 seconds to start
talking, else the phone goes back on the hook. If it's a live marketer I
just instantly hang up once I realize it.
