I had my updates for Windows XP set on to download the updates, but do
not install and warn me first. I installed and immediately after my
windows slowed down and behaved choppy as if I had a virus. I
uninstalled the update and the problem went away. The next day
windows
warned me of an update from Microsoft. Again I installed it and the
same thing happened. I updated and ran Norton Antivirus and it found a
Trojan.
1) Can a Trojan effect MS updates and/or mock an available update?
2)How can I find out what the most current update should be? MS
doesn't allow manual downloads (to my knowledge). They want to go on
your machine and do it for you.
Thanks for your help.
Consider not using Norton, it has compatibility problems with some
software. It might just not be getting along with the particular update?- Hide quoted text -
