There are reasons why all Communist countries fail, and reasons why a failed Communist country "Never Was Communist" once it does fail. Reasons why Socialist countries enter an economic decline and, eventually, fail.

Consider why the Plymouth Rock colony nearly died out. The group was small enough that socialism should have worked. It did not.

Why?

Because humans are human, and act human.

Failure to reward effort, whether failure to pay someone extra for extra effort, or failure to recognize years of academic study with degrees, position, and status, results in people not doing "that" any more.

Marxism as applied to academia? Hmmm. Let's give everyone who attends more than 6 years a Masters. 8 gets them a Doctorate.
