I will have the trace that the file was run from another place...
but, actually, it cant be run, because the original file, is
encrypted in another drive?
I have a similar set up to yours, an encrypted external drive with
documents,
no applications.
If you run a registry cleaner, I reccomend freeware
http://www.ccleaner.com you will be able to see the names of the files
you have in the encrypted drive as Windows stores some registry keys
with the names when you open them.
I reccomend you are very careful how you name your files,
Why? What do you mean with this?
and if you
do not mind
could you tell me what newsreader do you use from your encrypted
drive?
I like to use Xnews, you can use it by just clickng the xnews exe on the
folder, you can use it from a USB as well, and just by copng the folder,
you will be traking everything as you left it, including headers
I maybe interested in setting up a system like yours but so far theNever tried it before...Xnews, does everything very nicely, it does not
only newsreader
I can find that will run from inside an encrypted drive without
installation is
Opera on USB http://www.opera-usb.com and it is not a proper reader.
handle proxyes. I personaly dont like using proxies on usnet becasue it
makes it very slow and because I dont live in USA nor UK or those
countries where they persecute you for dooing anything on the net, I
dont mind using directly from my newsserver...
I forgot to mention...if you have low RAM and you open lots of
applications while using the newsreader maybe some information could
be leaked to the page
file (also called swap file).
I find 512RAM a minimum for Windows XP not to use the swap file.
I have over 512, but, I really dont know how swap file works, thats why
I was afraid of data going trough there... as I said, It is supposed,
that, because everything is enrypted, when taking away the HD, the files
in swap file, canot be accesed, becasue original file was encrypted...
This is what I think, and thats what I am asking, I want to know if my
tohughts are right. And if I am wrong, how can I prevent this.
