Re: NSA given a back door into every copy of Windows sold

Once again, where is the logic behind a government putting a back door in

discovered?

Your presumption is that, ultimately, they give a shit. They don't. See
AT&T/NSA and Nanus.

How could such a back door be exploited without being obvious, either by
the revelation of gathered evidence, or by simply observing network
traffic for any anomalous connections? The latter being something a
considerable number of people do either out of curiosity, or as a matter
of policy. And the former being less that impervious to any application
where a thorough audit trail exists. Again something that's part of a
great number of security policies the world over.

You're not talking about a bunch of kids hacking around looking for mp3s.
Step back and think of some of the most sophisticated IT you can come up
with. Square it = NSA/TLAs

It just doesn't make any sense, Nemo. It's appealing to the cloak and
dagger in all of us, but scratch that surface and underneath there's just
so much wrong with the idea that a government of corporate "spy" would be
absolutely insane to even try it.

Many of these guys approach insanity.
