If you need to be *anonymous* don't waste your time looking for
so called anonymous proxies. They're not anonymous, and in fact they're
usually misconfigured systems that disappear once the admins realize
what's going on.
Think about it... if you were the unwitting "victim" of someone who used
your system without your permission, would YOU just shut the door and
forget it? Or would you examine what the person was doing first? Maybe log
their activity for a couple days?
Anonymous proxies are a joke at best, and a danger to your anonymity most
of the time. Use something that's TRULY anonymous like Tor, or remailers
for mail and news.
And don't let yourself be lied to by so called "anonymity" services. If
you think about it for a second, you'll realize that NO subscription
service can ever make you anonymous. Any expert in the field will
tell you exactly that. It's not possible, but some of them claim
they do it anyway. they're liars, plain and simple. Depending on what you
really need they may be good enough security wise though, so shop around
for one that doesn't make false claims or fill your head with FUD. Stick
with services that show a little integrity, and you'll be better off all
the way around.
