Snowing in South Louisiana

(New Orleans, LA) -- Two weeks before Christmas and all across south
Louisiana the rarity of snow is quite a sight to behold for those use to
dealing with hurricanes instead. Heavy rains overnight gave way to
significant snowfall this morning from Lake Charles eastward to the New
Orleans metro area. The last time it snowed in the Big Easy was Christmas
2004, and before then it was 1989. The snow is accumulating, an inch or
more in some locations, causing tree branches to break from the unusual
weight and lights to flicker at times as power lines apparently become
impacted by the strange winter weather for this section of the country.
Some schools even cancelled classes, including those in Louisiana's capital
city, Baton Rouge. Icing and otherwise slick conditions forced the closure
of a number of heavily traveled bridges, including the I-10 bridge that
spans the Mississippi River to the west of Baton Rouge.

It never fails. Every winter the idiots who don't know the difference
between weather and climate show their ugly faces.


I suspect it is you who should educate himself on the long term
climactic change.
If you go back a few billion years you would find that this planet
was to hot for any life to exist.
With each period of global warming, life began to thrive and then
another Ice Age would extinguish large areas.
But each global warming period the "warming" has never been as
great as it was before the preceding ice age.
The bottom line here is that the earth is cooling and will
continue to cool as millions of years pass.
That is climate change not daily weather. The weather fluctuates
every eleven years as tree rings show and every thousand years as tree
rings and geology shows. This warming period started thousands of
years ago while the ancestors of man were shivering in caves, not
driving SUV"s
The sun expands and contracts changing these temperatures as
well as earth cools and contracts, but trust me the earth is cooling.
Adapt or die.
