trying to scare us into thinking there's a crisis. <-Tad
Almost??? LOL!
The real beauty of this "bailout" is that the bankers will loan us the
money (which they don't have) to bail them out. We will pay interest
to them for the loan of the money (which they don't have). In the
end, we will owe them the money they loaned us (which they don't have)
to bail them out. Great work if you can get it, and you can get it if
you're a banker.
Washington listened to Hamilton instead of Jefferson and, but for a
few brief periods, it's been government of the bankers, by the
bankers, and for the banker ever since.
Jefferson:
"If the American People ever allow the banks to control the issuance
of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks
and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people
of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent
their fathers occupied.
The issuing power of money should be taken from the bankers and
restored to Congress and the people to whom it belongs.
I sincerely believe the banking institutions having the issuing power
of money are more dangerous to liberty than standing armies."

Some were stupid with their money. Some weren't. If we would just leave it
alone, the banks that were smart will survive, and the ones that were wrong
might or might not survive, but at the very least they would get a good kick
in the ass as to the smart way to run a bank.
I just don't understand why we don't do what we're supposed to do in this
situation. The original plan back when it was put in place was for the
government to insure certain types of accounts, up to an upper limit. This
turns out to cover most people. So even if the banks don't have enough cash
on hand to cover deposits and/or pay bills, why not just let it run it's
course?
It's almost as if there's a huge conspiracy to steal our money from us while
trying to scare us into thinking there's a crisis. What crisis? Does anyone
really think tomorrow will be that different from today, if we just let it
collapse? Go ahead and let it. Someone else will step up and take the place
of those that go down.
I honestly don't feel like I'm being represented here.
