HE'S BEEN READY FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND WE'VE BEEN READY TO ELECT HIM
FOR QUITE SOME TIME.

Who has NOT been ready is the candidate McCain who has virtually
NOTHING to offer except attacks against Obama and the preposterous
nonsense that offshore drilling will solve the energy crisis.

Offshore drilling will not solve the energy crisis, it will make the energy crisis less of a crisis. More supply is better than no supply. Obama on the other hand, argues that he is willing to consider offshore drilling (a change in position also), "if" it is combined with some long term solution to the problem. That is also pretty dumb. We have a short term problem and that is, if we do not drill for oil we do have we will still have an oil problem. Then there is the long term problem and that is someday, demand for oil will outstrip the supply of oil. Whether you start addressing the long term problem today or next year, or the year after, is not that important, as long as you do address the issue.

Who has not been ready is the Republican party who has had it pretty
easy up till 2006 and has forgotten that you must offer NEW AND BETTER
ideas in order to win elections.

That is a valid point. What NEW and BETTER ideas has Obama had? All I hear from the guy are "little" new ideas, not addressing known big problems we have.

They think that by mentioning a lot
of pap about "winning" the Iraq war and not coming home "a loser"
that somehow, the majority of the American people are going to not
realize that that war was the greatest hoax, taxpayer waste and worst
strategical blunder in the history of the country.

It does not matter if the war was a big hoax or not. The war happened. Nothing you say or do, will turn back the clock. The question is, having gone to war, and having replaced Saddam, what do we do now? And you cannot tell us, what Obama would do, because he is all over the place about what he would do, if he beomces President. He has not said that success in Iraq is not important. He has not said that success in Iraq is not possible. He has said that we can achieve success "if" we adopt his plan of action, which of course is just another plan, which may be the right plan, or it may be the wrong plan, but the goal is the same, and Obama shares in that goal....success in Iraq!!!!

All of it happening while Bin Laden and his cronies watch from their
air conditioned caves on the Pakistan border.

"Air Conditioned cave"? Care to back up your claim?

We've got to wake up the Republican leadership that the United States
needs a REAL energy policy and REAL WAR strategies against terrorists
and that means NO MORE OIL as the predominant energy source - no coal,
no oil from rocks, oil from shale, or oil from inside the head of John
McCain - no coal, no clean coal and no coal from the head of John
McCain; AND NO MORE PLAY NICE NICE WITH PAKISTAN.

Nice thought....how do we do that? How long will it take to do that? What are these "alternatives" that you are talking about?

The best thing we can do for the Republican party is to hand them the
worst defeat they have had in decades, so that they can internally
clean themselves out, KICK OUT the NEO-CONS like McCain with their
"free" trade bullshit, and start building a viable Republican party
from the ground up.

Is Obama and the democrats against free trade? NO, they are not. They are in favor of free trade, under certain conditions....

Republicans have won election after election with the same Roveian
smears, lies, distortions and appeals to fear BUT NOT THIS TIME.

You mean like the nuclear ad that Johnson ran against Goldwater?

Republicans have sucked money out of our economy for foreign trade
deals, outsourced jobs, exported entire industries with such zeal that
our defense secrets have been lost, stolen or traded away, and want
YOUR approval next election to continue... BUT NOT THIS TIME.

What has Obama said that leads you to believe he won't do the same?

Republicans have sat back and DONE NOTHING about the health care
crisis while over 50 MILLION AMERICANS have no health care coverage
whatsoever - they think they can protect their parasite profiteer
friends over at the Health "care" provider (sic) and Insurer(sic)
companies if only you will vote for them next election ... BUT NOT
THIS TIME.

First of all, who are these 50 million? How many of them are rich enough that they do not need health insurance, they can well afford to pay for their care out of their own pocket. How many of the 50 million are in this country illegally? Why should any sane parent spend money on health insurance for their children? Would you propose they also buy life insurance on their children?

Republicans talk up a storm about keeping taxes low while they rob us
blind with their "defense" expenditures and huge oil company subsidies
and money tricks for every friend industry whose lobbyists entertain
them
and they'd like to keep right on doing that if you believe any part of
the nonsensical pap they've fed you for years ... BUT NOT THIS TIME.

Yep we sure do. We don't like a government to confiscate our money to pay for some pet project, which does not do the job that it was intended to do.

They think they can beat Obama as they beat Kerry and Gore with the
usual half truths, innuendo and bullshit, and many of you who have
gone along with this are now being taken to the cleaners every time
you drive around the block - they're hoping you loyal Republicans will
vote for them again ... BUT NOT THIS TIME.

Negative ads work. That is why they are used.

Oh the price of oil WILL go down again, just before election time, you
can COUNT ON IT... but then, after the election, and whenever the
"energy and oil" cartel gans feel like it, they will PUT THE SQUEEZE
ON YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.... unless you and we tell the
Republican party that it is time for REAL CHANGE, real reform and that
if they are hoping for OUR vote, it's going to be .... NOT THIS TIME.

Somewhat contradictory statement. You said the democrats are going to win, so how can what you said will happen, if they win?
