raising money for conventions



National Public Radio's Jeff Brady recently had a story about how the
parties raise money for political conventions after the ban on soft
money to parties in McCain-Feingold. Instead of giving money directly
to the parties, unions and companies now give to host committees that
are registered as non-political entities, even charities (tax
deduction). The FEC and IRS are turning a blind eye...
