It was just a joke. Being intelligent and honest are not mutually
exclusive. I work in media and I know all about how frustrating it is
to see Britney Spears and Paris Hilton as "news". Our culture is
indeed based on hype and mediocrity. We have people who go vote,
armed with the garbage they see on CNN and FOX News.
I do sympathize with your frustration. I was just venting and being
self-righteous.
