Bert, you are allowing your own cynicism to give power to the very
things you dislike, such as the continuance of wars which, as you say,
people should have spoken up against and denounced long ago.
So long as you feel that your opinions are worth nothing
and that the 2 party system is inevitable, things will continue that
way. Your opinion, and the opinion of EVERY CITIZEN is of value, of
far greater power than you imagine.
Now, you may accuse me of being naive, but in my opinion, the mere
act of us posting here on Usenet, the mere stating of opinions is the
first step in identifying the so easily agreed upon fallacies of the
status quo.
It is always a small minority that obtains dominance and the reason
they come to power is that they were usually ignored by other people
who kept repeating that nobody made a difference, that the status quo
was forever and that
things could never be changed.
Right now, today, and for the next couple of days, an idiot named
Condolezza Rice is going to appear before congress and she is going to
try and explain how a private "security" company paid for with
taxpayer dollars was let loose in Iraq with NO ACCOUNTABILITY, neither
under military engagement rules nor under Iraq law nor under United
States law. This BLACKWATER organization was supposed to be under
the control of the State Dept. but the U.S. Military has complained
that there was little or no coordination between Dept. of State and
the Pentagon.
This is an example of the kind of things that have been occurring in
the corrupted Bush administration and WE msut speak out against them
as a first step if WE ever hope to effectuate change.
Who is this WE, Bert? You can speak just for yourself or you can
speak for interpreted will of the masses - a concretization of the
collective unconscious. To understand the disaffection against Bush -
you CANNOT DISAGREE, you know there is vast and growing opposition to
his misguided machinations, and that this disaffection involves masses
of people. Not everyone by any means, but good numbers of people. Is
is WE. They are "WE". WE are WE.
