matters because I served "only" 6 years in an all-volunteer

1. There were no WMD's after three seperate teams scoured the area,
Sats circled the area for months and IR sensors looked at every hot
spot in the desert. Nothing was found.

2. Congress gets no intelligence reports that does not get vetted by
and comes from the executive branch because every intelligence agency
falls under the executive branch.

3. Every senior officer and senior NCO I know are convince they can
win any battle and still lose the war because of the lack of
participation of the Iraqi's. Same as Vietnam

4. Every one also knows there were wholesale forced retirements of
many very competent officers because they disagreed with Rumsfeld's
'Do more with less' crap and his "Pre-emptive war" crap. The 'do more
with less' crap from the business world of Bush and Cheney and
Rumsfeld replaced the successful 'overwhelming force' doctrine of
Colin Powell and General Norman Schwartzkopf the men who engineered
the completely successful liberation of Kuwait.

It's your opinion that not every troop is a hero. Willingness to
put your life on the line for your country at a moment's notice
makes you a hero until proven otherwise.

The fact that you are not aware of what's at stake in Iraq is very
telling.

What a laugh. What is at stake is nothing more that the worst foreign
policy mistake in America's history and another Vietnam. Vietnam was lost
because the Vietnamese were tired of war after 30 years of it and they
quit. Iraq is not much different and has been at war for the better part
of 30 odd years. First with the Iranians, then with NATO and now with
America. In between the wars they were ruled by a murdering dictator we
armed and supported for most of his rule. Both Desert Storm and the
invasion phase of the Iraq war took almost no effort to win. Both times
we walked in. Only difference is that the first time we walked in with a
true and rightous purpose and with the support of the world and a clear
plan. The second time we walked in with no true purpose, with no
international support and with no plan.

We chose the place and the time of the war and we chose the size of the
Army and the equipment.

Bush says he left it up to his generals - that's only true after he
purged those out of the pentagon that told him what he did not want to
hear. The Chief of Staff says we need 300,000 and he's replaced along

wanted. And three stand up, resign and tell us otherwise. I believe John

You need to learn the virtues of brevity. If you expect me to read
your drivel, you've got to keep it short. I love to read, just
finished Anthony Beevor's excellent book on the siege at Stalingrad
and I highly recommend it, but I'm not going to continue to read a
drawn out tirade on the same tired liberal arguements.
