Shocker in the latest Rasmussen poll

In the latest Rasmussen poll of Republican voters, Fred Thompson tied
Rudy Guliani for first place. Both men had 24% each.

McCain and Mitt were 3rd and 4th with 12% and 10% respectively.

Fred has not announced yet. Some critics had claimed it was too late
for Fred to get in, with the first primaries 'only' nine months away.

Since the name recognition for Rudy is near 100%, whereas Fred's is
about 50%, it appears that Fred has a lot more upside potential to win
the nomination.

Also, Fred hasn't spent a nickel on advertisements... yet.

The reason he should win is that he's a whole lot better lookin' than
any Democrat candidate except for "My silky pony." You can guess who
that is.
