EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE: A June report by the
Government Accountability Office concluded that FEMA wasted between
$600 million and $1.4 billion on "improper and potentially fraudulent
individual assistance payments."

Government auditors found that debit cards distributed to Katrina
victims were used to pay for things like Dom Perignon champagne, New
Orleans Saints season tickets and adult-oriented entertainment. The
audit also found that people used fictional addresses, fake
Social Security numbers and the identities of dead people to
fraudulently register for assistance. FEMA also double-deposited funds
in the accounts of 5,000 out of the nearly 11,000 debit card holders.

CLEANUP: The job still isn't done. More than 100 million cubic yards of
debris have been cleared from the region affected by Katrina. So far
the government has spent $3.6 billion, a figure that might have been
considerably smaller had the contracts for debris removal been subject
to competitive bidding.

The notion that the government hasn't spent any money on New Orleans is
bogus. It has spent many times more to date than it will in Lebanese
aid. And there's no accounting ffor how effective the Lebanese aid wll
be, either

New Orleans was - and still is - a dysfunctional city. *That's* the
reason why they are having problems rebuilding. It isn't the lack of
money - they've been getting more than their share

own people without homes in Louisiana and Mississippi.

What is George Bush's excuse? Yesterday, in a trumped up fraud
perpetrated
by the Whitehouse to spin George Bush as a caring president, about
Katrina
victims Bush said, "It's a time to remember that people suffered and it's
a
time to recommit ourselves to helping them. But I also want people to
remember that a one-year anniversary is just that, because it's going to
require a long time to help these people rebuild."

IT HAS BEEN A YEAR !! BUSH CAN HELP THE LEBANESE WITH IN DAYS, BUT HE
MAKES
THE EXCUSE IT WILL TAKE MORE TIME TO PROVIDE FOR PEOPLE HERE AT HOME??

If Bush can have $25 million in Lebanon within days, he certainly can
help
his own citizens right here in Louisiana and Mississippi. Bush has not.
He
is more interested in announcing, "that America will send more aid to
support humanitarian and reconstruction work in Lebanon, for a total of
more
than $230 million. These funds will help the Lebanese people restore key
bridges and roads. The funds will help the Lebanese people rehabilitate
schools so the children can start their school year on time this fall,"

Again, after a full year, no homes rebuilt with Federal funds in
Louisiana
and Mississippi, but Bush falls all over himself to provide schools for
kids
in Lebanon two months from now!

What ever happen to taking care of Americans? Bush is not an American
President. Bush is an irresponsible benefactor giving away American
taxpayer
dollars to foreign countries. Mr. Bush is a treasonous traitor to the
American taxpayer and the victims of Hurricane Katrina. George Bush does
not
have American's best interest at heart. Bush must be removed from
office.
