Re: Iraqi oil exports were supposed to pay for "reconstruction"

Who didn't know this from the very beginning? The case Bush made to
substantiate the war with Iraq was thinner than piss on a rock. I am
beginning to think that this newly emerging crisis in the Middle east
is manufactured to inflate the price of oil and their way out of their
reconstruction liability. At the time we launched our first strike at
them, the oil Iraq is sitting on was estimated in worth at around $6
trillion--barely 1/2 of our GDP. Off the cuff, I'm not sure what the
price of crude was at that time but you can rest assured it is worth a
lot more now.

The cost of the war $70 billion???? ROTFLMAO!!!!!! By the time the
dust settles and all the post war liabilities for our disabled troops
are added up and spread out over time, we will be lucky to walk away $
2.6 trillion in the red.

I'm still not sure if the to total cost of war is a lie on Bush's part.
He, his cabinet, and the key constituents in the DOD have clearly
proven themselves incompetent in making accurate estimates/forecasts/
predictions, etc...about anything. Lying and making mistakes are not
exactly the same, but when it comes down to the bottom line, we,
ultimately, are still paying for it in money out of pocket and missed
opportunities. Hence, either way we're fucked.
