I am not optimistic about Iraq.
Iraq is comprised of three tribes about 8000 years old. They will never
accept a western ideology. Iraq has been a waste of time, lives, and
resources since day one.
Today George Bush said, "I understand leadership. Leadership requires
determination. You've got to be determined to do something in order to be
able to lead, particularly in difficult circumstances. You've got to have
will. You've got to have desire to succeed."
Bush fails to realize he has caused the difficult circumstances. He is the
one that failed to control the insurgency when he had the chance in early
summer 2003. He has turned Iraq into a cesspool.
His will and desire are pointless. He has created a civil war, and by doing
so he finds himself stuck in a quagmire. A quagmire that will likely last
another 8000 years.
