Why bash "liberals" in this news group, when it's the GOP that controls Washington?

Why are we hearing so much about the faults of "liberals" these days,
when the liberals are powerless and mostly irrelevant? It's mostly
CONSERVATIVES and REPUBLICANS who have lied us into a military mess in
Iraq, AND screwed up federal responses to Hurricane Katrina, AND
injected Washington politics into the Terry Schiavo case, AND
dangerously increased the US national debt, AND allowed gasoline prices
to go ballistic, AND done nothing to prepare the US for global warming.

Is there any sense in blaming "liberals" for supposedly coddling
terrorists under these circumstances? Except, that is, the purpose of
getting a brain-dead Republican Congress off the hook for being
incompetent and crooked?
