To be fair to Kerry, many of the reporters who've written about his
navy career are terrible. Then again, so was his biographer Doug
Brinkley.

In fact, what Doug Reese is complaining about in regard to the Feb
28th, '69 Silver Star, derives from a story written in the Boston Globe
(by Mike Kranish, iirc) that contradicted what Kerry's CO had been told
by Kerry and his crew on the day of that action. It was the newspaper
that turned him against Kerry.
