Scientist: We "don't understand" what happens with global warming
Hmmm, I 've been saying that all along; nice to see the NY Times agree
with me.

Studies Portray Tropical Arctic in Distant Past
By ANDREW C. REVKIN
The first detailed analysis of an extraordinary climatic and biological
record from the seabed near the North Pole shows that 55 million years
ago the Arctic Ocean was much warmer than scientists imagined - a
Floridian year-round average of 74 degrees.
If you had kids who insisted on watching every damned thing ever made
about dinosaurs you'd have already known this. The Antarctic used to be
tropical during the Summer and held abundant life.
BTW, the "Right" has been claiming for decades that there is no global
warming. Now they are claiming that we don't know why.
This is pretty apt. The right-wingers switched from "ain't no such
thing" to "we don't know why" or "it doesn't matter" overnight. Kinda
comical.

It's only because the leftist media insists on blurring the issue. The
issue is not whether global warming is occuring, it occurs every morning.
The issue is global climate change caused by man. This has not been
proven scientifically.
Only to brainwashed fanatics, like you.
Let's make it simple: (because, obviously, you cananot handle anything
complex).
Midwest states .......... coal burning power plants and factories spew
pollution into the air (pollution which contains sulfuric acid).
What goes up, must come down. (the "answer" to polluting power plants, for a
long time, was nothing more than taller smoke stacks).
Where does it come down? on the eastern states.
What does the sulphuric acid come down as? Acid rain.
What happens when the acid rain mixes with the environment?
Lakes in upper New York State become so acidic (because the ground area is
not the best for neutralization or runoff) nothing can live in them anymore.
The excuse the power plant operators and coal companies give .... PROOVE IT!
We APPEAR to have a vast amount of evidence that something as common as
second hand smoke IS the actual cause of non-smokers cancer .......... but
your saying therer is no proof that pollution, by man, has any effect on the
environment?
Get you head out of your ass - or the sand - or both!
In answer to the previous reply, yes, it would be better to become more
efficient, but at what cost? Why should the U.S. castrate itself
economically, when China and India will do nothing themselves?
??????????
Why should anyone be HONEST, if there are dishonest people in the world?
Why should anyone be honorable, if there are dishonorable people in the
world?
Why should anyone be sexually responsible, and let the promiscuous have all
the fun?
I grew up ion the '50s steel town of Pittsburgh.
The steel companies, ALWAYS in the dead of night, would bellow out gigantic
amounts of polution.
It turned haning laundry red.
The dust, stettling on cars, actually etched the paint.
There is no way to measure the effects on the heath of THOUSANDS UPON
THOUSANDS of men, women and children. (but just imagine what a dust that
etches car paint will do to a child's lungs).
The most common excuses from the steel mills?
1: Cost too much (to them - which completely ignores the cost to the
thousands of families around them).
2: Prove it!
Your mentally corrupt, and lame, excuses don't cut it!
