There were retired military men, including the ex-commandant of the
Marine Corps, Gen. Joseph Hoar, who were saying before the Iraq War
occurred that this would be a horrible mess.
That the Sunnis, Shias and Kurds would scramble for power and risk
splitting Iraq in three pieces -- that Bin Laden and Al Qaida would use
the US invasion as a recruiting tool -- that once the US settled in as
an army of occupation, American soldiers would come to be seen as the
enemy by many Iraqis.
It looks to me as if all of Gen. Hoar's predictions are coming true.
And I don't know what we should do about it now.
I'm a peacenik,
You don't know what peacnik is kid. Look on page 51 of John Kerry's book,
"The New Soldier". That's me, top left.
Now, let me ask you this. If you, just you now, were responsible for the
safety of 290 million people, what do you think the most prudent step to
take would be when someone told you they were going to destroy the American
infidels and all that they stand for and that they would laugh as the
American people ran screaming into the streets with their skin melting from
their bodies? Would you wait until they got here and started making good on
that threat, or would you take the battle to them by choosing a very
sensitive location from which you could draw all of your enemies to in order
to deal with them there? Remember, the lives of 290 million of your own
brothers and sisters rely on your decision. Because that's exactly what our
President, and I don't pimp for politicians or political parties, had to
deal with.

What this country needs is a government in which
there are two four year term limits for everybody,
no contributions of any kind to anyone that the
contributor can NOT vote for, no retirement plan
for politicians and no taxpayer money to anyone
that has not voted in 3 of the past 4 elections and
no taxpayer funded grants to anyone, only loans that
must be paid back at the private sector rate of interest.
And I submit to you that it is YOUR fault for not insisting
that we have such a system.
I've made a New Year's Resolution to be a more
cheerful, agreeable and congenial person. So
shut the hell up and get off my case!
