Let's see. You are saying that a Republican appointed Supreme Court
Justice will change the Supreme Court forever from the "Liberalized"
Supreme Court that went before it. Let's have a look at the facts on
who appointed this "Liberalized" Supreme Court to begin with:

Current Court:
Samuel Alito: Appointed by G.W. Bush (R)
John Roberts: Appointed by G.W. Bush (R)
Stephen Breyor: Appointed by Clinton (D)
Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Appointed by Clinton (D)
Clarence Thomas: Appointed by G.H.W. Bush (R)
David Souter: Appointed by G.H.W. bush (R)
Anthony Kennedy: Appointed by Reagan (R)
Antonin Scalia: Appointed by Reagan (R)
John Paul Stevens: Appointed by Ford (R)

Preceding Court Members, with service beyond 1980:
Sandra Day O'connor: Appointed by Reagan (R) - served until Jan 2006
William Hubbs Rehnquist: Appointed by Nixon (R) - served until Sep
2005
Lewis Franklin Powell Jr.: Appointed by Nixon (R) - served until Jun
1987
Harry Andrew Blackman: Appointed by Nixon (R) - served until Aug 1994
Warren E. Burger: Appointed by Nixon (R) - served until Sep 1986
Thurgood Marshal: Appointed by Johnson (D) - served until Oct 1991
Byron Raymond White: Appointed by Kennedy (D) - served until Sep 1993
Potter Stewart: Appointed by Eisenhower (R) - served until Dec 1981
William Joseph Brennan: Appointed by Eisenhower (R) - served until Jul
1990

Verdict: 7 our ot 9 members of this now "Former*Former*Former*
Liberalized Court" was appoint by Republicans, EXACTLY the same ratio
of this court's "Liberalized" predecessors who were appointed by
Republicans.

That's an interesting basis for your confidence.
