This should be interesting to watch. If Obama's corporate tax laws kick
in, more businesses will leave the US. Looks like Islam will dominate
America after all.
Screw Microsoft. One in three workers in Microsoft is a temporary worker
and Microsoft is notorious for underpaying workers. It prefers to offer
stock instead of a decent salary. It needs a labor union. The EU is
getting ready to bitch slap Microsoft again and force it to bundle
competitor's browsers.
I moved over to Linux because I got tired of paying the cost to upgrade
all of my applications every time I upgraded the MS operating system.
Linux includes OpenOffice which is a clone of Microsoft Office, has a
free CD/DVD creator, and Evolution email which is equivalent to Outlook
and vastly superior to Outlook Express. The Firefox browser is superior
to Explorer which is buggy and always has to be patched. I had the choice
of several free firewalls and free ClamAv which is a great AV product.
Microsoft enjoyed more than $12 billion in total tax breaks over the past
five years. In fact, Microsoft actually paid no tax at all in 1999,
despite $12.3 billion in reported U.S. profits. Microsoft?s tax rate for
the past two years was only 1.8 percent on $21.9 billion in pretax U.S.
profits.
You probably believe the myth that the federal government is persecuting
corporations with corporate income tax, but some of the largest
corporations in the US pay no corporate income tax at all. Another large
tech company, Cisco systems has also avoided paying fedral income tax.

Despite the sins of corporations, including Microsoft, the company is
threatening to relocate to another country if certain tax laws get
passed. If Microsoft doesn't get its way, there could very well be
more job losses in America. The mess is only getting worse for America
anyway. A nation divided cannot stand.
