Since two out of three Republicans thinks the party will be better off if
it moves to the right, the will be little wiggle room for moderates in
the GOP. Many political pundits believe the GOP has collapsed to become a
regional political party with permanent minority status.

During the 2008 elections Democrats had three times the foot soldiers on
the street that the GOP had. We were able to raise considerably more
money for the presidential, House and Senate races than the Republicans.
This will not change in 2010. We will continue to make sure that the
nation is not subverted again by a minority party.

The Democratic party has a big tent that includes conservatives,
moderates and progressives. We even caucus with one socialist. Most
moderate Republicans would find friends with the Blue Dog Democrats who
are conservative. The Democratic Party is less ideological than the
Republican and tolerates diverse views.

Whether you are a politician, a campaign manger or a campaign worker, you
will be able to find a place in the New Democratic party. Of course, you
can stay where you are and languish for years in political purgatory
until the stars are right again for a GOP comeback. Believe me, this
won't happen in 2010 or 2012.

The wacko right would like nothing more than to usurp another party -new
image, distanced from history, ....so be careful what you ask for.

Ole Butteye

The Democratic party is too big and broad for that to happen. We do
have an opportunity to attract the moderates form the GOP.
That is about one third of the Republican party.

You wont be attracting many of your own with cap-n-trade, selling out
the CIA and nationalizing banks either.

Cap and trade my work. It is worth a try. Bush sod out the CIA when he
authorized torture. No bank has been nationalized. Only Limbaugh
listeners believe that BS. .
