If the complete and utter irrationality and imbecility of that line was
not obvious to the maroon who posted it, then I suspect he is the
world's first live brain donor. Because he doesn't seem to have
anything left but his brainstem.

Saddam's regime was precisely the type of corrupt, secular dictatorship
that bin Laden was swearing to overthrow. Bin Laden referred to Saddam
contemptuously as an American agent and puppet who had fallen out of
fashion with the U.S.

Saddam's greatest brutalities were aimed at the greatest threats to his
regime - Islamic fundamentalists who wanted to recreate the once-great
Caliphate, with Baghdad again as its capital. The idea that Saddam
would cooperate with Islamic fundamentalists dedicated to his overthrow
(along with the other dictatorships and monarchies throughout the Middle
East) is simply beyond the pale of rationality.

Saddam would no more empower his jihadist enemies in al Qaeda than
George W. Bush and Bill O'Reilly would finance the next Michael Moore
movie.

Hell, you wouldn't claim that the fact that a Taliban official was
invited to Washington for a week of meetings about oil pipelines at the
State Department in March of 2001, and another met with a State
Department official in Pakistan a month before 9/11 means that the Bush
Administration shares guilt by association for the atrocities the
Taliban were committing in Afghanistan, whould you? Hmmmmmm! Then
again.....

Sheeeeesh...some people will remain gullible fools until they're planted
in the old bone orchard.

I have a question for all of you who really believe that the United
States is in a global war for the survival of freedom and democracy
against an implacable and fanatical enemy.

What the hell are you all doing sitting on your asses, typing on forums?
You should be breaking down the doors of the enlistment offices and
putting your bodies where your gaping mouths are. In World War II,
virtually every single American sacrificed as much as possible to defeat
the Fascists and Imperial Japan.

In the Iraq War, even its most fervent supporters aren't even willing to
give up their tax cuts to fund the war effort, let alone make positive
contributions, like buying war bonds or accepting gas rationing as all
Americans did in the 1940s. The chickenhawks' very behavior (or
conspicuous lack thereof) belies the vile and pustulating rhetoric of
war and hatred they vomit forth from the safety of their keyboards back
on the homefront.
