There are about 6000 firefighters in Southern California trying to

I always feel sick to my stomach when the soldiers in Iraq are touted
as heroes. They are nothing of the kind. They take relatively little
risk. They kill. They torture. They destroy. There is nothing heroic
in that. They do NOT in any conceivable way protect. Iraq is not and

Well, actually, they are acting as police posse. But without having
law to act under or within, they are just another motiveless force acting
in accordance with the hard rules of physics instead of the (ostensibly)
softer touch of human tradition and society.

was never any threat to the USA. They are hired hitmen out to steal
Iraq's oil.

To compare he serial killers with the California firefighters or the
9/11 firefighters who took even greater risks to save lives spits on
the firefighters.

I think to compare them might be a fairly enlightening undertaking.
Same folks, different situation. Who says morality ain't relative
to the environment?

It seems a little absurd to compare an individual who has signed up to serve
his country, suborned his individuality to the cause and security of his
nation and fellows, to a serial killer or a mercenary. Anyone who joins a
Police force, Fire Department or a national Military force and stays so
employed year after year demonstrates a love for the people he or she
ultimately serve. The risks they take on the behalf of their communities
is alway worthy of positive recognition.

Ironically, you and I are responsible for the jobs they are assigned to do
and if anyone should be compared to a serial killer it is you and I; for we
have failed to protect them from the crooked, blood thirsty politicians who
have deployed them.- Hide quoted text -

Have you guys ever wondered who would get the oil if we didn't?
What would they do with their new oil wealth?
Would they be a kind compassionate people?
They wouldn't hurt us would they?
