Re: Here we go again: Dems are vowing to get us out of Iraq. Right.

Are leftists still unchastened enough at this point to jump for joy, to
proclaim that now the Dems are in power it's over for Bush? Is there
anyone who believes Reid and Pelosi anymore?

Is there anyone who believes Bush anymore? Sure the Congress is going to
continue to try to bring into being that for which they were elected,
i.e., extricate America from the Civil War in which we are bogged down in
Iraq.

Here's Pelosi at her best:

"We have many arrows in our quiver and we are sharpening them,
including taking a bill to the floor in July to authorize the
redeployment of troops out of Iraq, except for the purposes I
mentioned, with a definite deadline of April 1, 2008," she
said.

Yeah, shooting arrows at a president during war is a great idea.

A war that HE manufactured. There is a difference between committing a
large army of troops to invade a country without good reason, and
fighting an ideology that uses small cells of adherents of bomb throwers
diffused through the world population. The money would be better spent
on working with other governments in a policing action, gathering
intelligence on the groung and working to change thinking in groups that
would do us harm. All we have done is reinforce and encourage hostility
toward the United States.

And what are those exceptions that Pelosi mentioned? "...in fighting Al
Qaeda, and protecting our embassy and our troops who are there for that
reason." (12:05 into the news conference.) In other words, fighting Al
Qaeda -- which is exactly what Bush is doing in Iraq -- means no
soldiers get pulled out by April, 2008!

See http://tinyurl.com/e6a8e, click on "Congressional News Conference
on
Democratic Congressional Agenda." I doubt you leftists are interested.
I
imagine Reid and Pelosi are nauseating to you at this point.

Dems are gutless. They gave Bush exactly what he wanted -- 100 plus
billion dollars -- when they said they were going to get the US out of
Iraq. Now Reid and Pelosi are going to get the president to pull out
soldiers -- unless Bush says he's fighting Al Qaeda.

They gave him the money to support our troops in harms way to give him
and the Congress time to work out terms under which we could remove out
troops from the mud pit of a Civil War. You mention in many of your
posts that Iraq had two elections. One Civil War put an end to whatever
those so called elections were supposed to do.
And have you noticed that all those Iraqis that we are going up against
are rarely called insurgents anymore. Or Sunni, or Shia militia.
Suddenly everybody is being called Al Qaeda. Nice slight of hand there.
Kinda like calling everybody in a body count in Vietnam, whether they
were children or old men, Viet Cong.
By all accounts, there was no Al Qeada in Iraq until US troops showed up.
But I guess we've been a great help in recuiting adherents to the cause.

You leftists continue to make poor choices in allies....

And, who are these "leftists" you keep ranting about. You sound like
some paranoid living in a bomb shelter buried in your back yard.
