Stories about the beheading of the baby spread so widely
that the Army was finally forced to conduct a secret
inquiry in 1971. The investigation lasted for almost
five years and probed 30 alleged Tiger Force war crimes.

In the end, however, a half dozen of the most
compromised veterans
allowed to resign from the Army, avoiding military
indictment, and in 1975 the Pentagon quietly buried the
entire investigation.
The saddest story of baby died during the war was during
the exodus of refugees on highway 1near Quang Tri,
refugees passed by the dead body of the mother who died
by artillery shells amid many other dead corpses nearby.
The baby was on top the dead body of the mother, trying
to suck the last drops of milk from the breast of the
dead mother then cried because the mother's milk dried
out and the mother did not respond to his crying. Because
everyone was on the run for their own life, the baby was
left behind to cry and die with the mother after everyone
left. Normally people would rescue wounded animals found
on the street but in war, even babies were left behind to
die. War made people all sides heartless and cruel.
Vietnam was a mistake and there were some Americans that
did go way past the line. I think one reason may have been
that instead of units being sent to Vietnam the units
stayed and individuals rotated in and out and it was easy
to feel alone even though you were with a few hundred
soldiers. Your buddies were the few that came in country
with you and not a whole unit you trained and learned with.
Vietnam was a mistake on many levels.
At the same time as bad as the worst American got the VC
and NVA were much worse and their bad behavior was
acceptable and even praised by their country. This is no
excuse but a mitagating circumstance.
The VC and NVA were praised by the VVAW and other American
anti war groups as well. Much of the "evidence" about
so-called "American atrocities" was by people whoi never
served in the military and never set foot in Vietnam. The
same tactic is being used by the VVAW today.

Regardless of that which Morty may have reached, I've read a whole
lot of the Winter Soldier Investigation. I read stories of
skinning people alive and crucifixions. I know these people
"testified" without even one of them so much as signing an
affidavit. I know they refused to cooperate with the NIS even
though they were promised immunity. I know that none of these
"stories" have even been so much as proven true. If Kerry repeated
these stories without allowing any form of due process to be
respected, I do not feel as if they warrant any more consideration
than just "stories." You weren't the only person in Vietnam. A
great deal of these veterans
with you, including my ex-husband who was in the business of
investigating war crimes in SE Asia.
Until Kerry and Co. can bring forth the guilty and have justice
served the right way, his testimony was nothing but a smear.

The key here is that he resorted to lame name flames. Chief is
nothing but a troll and nothing he postsd has any value. I was in
Vietnam for two tours, many of my friends were also in Vietnam. Our
experiences do not jibe with "Chief's" bull.
The most important fact about the VVAW is this: Many of their
members wore uniforms and medals they never earned because they had
never served a day of military duty and most assuredly had never
set foot in Vietnam. They made up stories about atrocities they
could not have committed/witnessed. Yes, there were isolated
inciodents but there was no pervasive disposition of American
military personnel to commit atrocities.
Morty have you posted any proof of your service? Sorry but

before I'd believe you did anything. What was your MOS? What was your
assignments? What corp? When? What branch?
