"A 13-year-old girl's throat was slashed after she was
sexually assaulted, and a young mother was shot to death
after soldiers torched her hut. An unarmed teenager was
shot in the back after a platoon sergeant ordered the youth
to leave a village, and a baby was decapitated so that a
soldier could remove a necklace."

Stories about the beheading of the baby spread so widely
that the Army was finally forced to conduct a secret
inquiry in 1971. The investigation lasted for almost five
years and probed 30 alleged Tiger Force war crimes.
Evidence was found to support the prosecution of at least
18 members of the platoon.

In the end, however, a half dozen of the most compromised
veterans
were

allowed to resign from the Army, avoiding military
indictment, and in 1975 the Pentagon quietly buried the
entire investigation.

The saddest story of baby died during the war was during the
exodus of refugees on highway 1near Quang Tri, refugees
passed by the dead body of the mother who died by artillery
shells amid many other dead corpses nearby. The baby was on
top the dead body of the mother, trying to suck the last
drops of milk from the breast of the dead mother then cried
because the mother's milk dried out and the mother did not
respond to his crying. Because everyone was on the run for
their own life, the baby was left behind to cry and die with
the mother after everyone left. Normally people would rescue
wounded animals found on the street but in war, even babies
were left behind to die. War made people all sides heartless
and cruel.

Vietnam was a mistake and there were some Americans that did
go way past the line. I think one reason may have been that
instead of units being sent to Vietnam the units stayed and
individuals rotated in and out and it was easy to feel alone
even though you were with a few hundred soldiers. Your buddies
were the few that came in country with you and not a whole
unit you trained and learned with. Vietnam was a mistake on
many levels.

At the same time as bad as the worst American got the VC and
NVA were much worse and their bad behavior was acceptable and
even praised by their country. This is no excuse but a
mitagating circumstance.

The VC and NVA were praised by the VVAW and other American anti
war groups as well. Much of the "evidence" about so-called
"American atrocities" was by people whoi never served in the
military and never set foot in Vietnam. The same tactic is
being used by the VVAW today.

GO *** YOURSELF.

Opps, Morty reached the limits of his small mind.

Regardless of that which Morty may have reached, I've read a whole
lot of the Winter Soldier Investigation. I read stories of skinning
people alive and crucifixions. I know these people "testified"
without even one of them so much as signing an affidavit. I know they
refused to cooperate with the NIS even though they were promised
immunity. I know that none of these "stories" have even been so much
as proven true. If Kerry repeated these stories without allowing any
form of due process to be respected, I do not feel as if they warrant
any more consideration than just "stories." You weren't the only
person in Vietnam. A great deal of these veterans
disagree
with you, including my ex-husband who was in the business of
investigating war crimes in SE Asia.

Until Kerry and Co. can bring forth the guilty and have justice
served the right way, his testimony was nothing but a smear.

Rita

The key here is that he resorted to lame name flames. Chief is nothing
but a troll and nothing he postsd has any value. I was in Vietnam for
two tours, many of my friends were also in Vietnam. Our experiences do
not jibe with "Chief's" bull.

The most important fact about the VVAW is this: Many of their members
wore uniforms and medals they never earned because they had never
served a day of military duty and most assuredly had never set foot in
Vietnam. They made up stories about atrocities they could not have
committed/witnessed. Yes, there were isolated inciodents but there was
no pervasive disposition of American military personnel to commit
atrocities.

Morty have you posted any proof of your service? Sorry but Republicans
are such liars that you'd have to show me something before I'd believe
you did anything. What was your MOS? What was your assignments? What
corp? When? What branch?

I had two jobs. I worked at both. I was in the motror pool but I left there
and became a cook.

I was in Vietnam so don't try to fool me.

Sure you were. I was a REMF. Most who were in Vietnam were. I never saw a
moment of battle, never got sahot at by the VC and never missed it.

I've been using the same name (my own) online for over 20 years and hasve
not changed my story like your hero, Kerry, because I was there. Meanwhile,
you're a nym shifting troll.
