The tale of two VPs
Marie Jon'
February 18, 2006
While America was being told we all need to await with bated breath to
hear every single detail about a tragic hunting accident, the real
story was all about a former Vice President named Al Gore.
Vice President Dick Cheney took time out of his very busy day to
comment about the accidental shooting that wounded one of his best
friends last Saturday. The Vice President appeared on Fox with Brit
Hume. "It was not Harry's fault," Cheney said. "You cannot blame
anybody else." (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,184957,00.html)
Interview on video is included
Vice President Cheney could very well be criticized for not quickly
making a public statement concerning the accident, the facts are what
they are. He rightfully thought that it was more important for his
friend to be cared for. He shared his sorrow with us. He expressed It
was the most horrible day of his life, knowing that he had injured his
friend.
In retrospect most Americans admire the way our vice president
conducted the whole unfortunate situation with courteous thoughtful
decorum. The only people that seemed overly exercised about this story
were the Democrats along with the White House press core. While most
people cared about the health of the shooting victim, there were other
newsworthy events on their minds.
Mr. Harry Whittington, the man who was the center of the controversy,
was released from the hospital on Friday. The very dignified Texas
lawyer thanked the hospital's medical staff. He then surprisingly
apologized for causing his best friend, Dick Cheney, so much concern
and emotional pain. He pointed out to the press that the country had
much more to be concerned about than a hunting accident. "Accidents
happen," said Harry. He appeared well and strikingly handsome.
Whittington, at age 78, certainly looked the charmer as he stood there
in a tailored business suit. His sense of humor was definitely showing.
If one where to be judge by the friends one keeps, Dick Cheney has
himself a winner. Mr. Whittington is truly a gentleman as well a class
act. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,185238,00.html
The accidental shooting story was media-driven. It lacked compassion
for the people concerned in the tragedy. Inappropriate jokes from the
late night TV hosts showed just how crude they really are. The media
opened the door for more Bush and Cheney bashing.
Surely these reporters knew that Secret Service agents were with our
Vice President the very moment the shooting accident unfortunately took
place.
There were other eyewitnesses to the accident. A medical team
accompanied Vice President Cheney along with the law enforcement men
who serve and protect the vice president.
"A physician's assistant traveling with Cheney rushed to Whittington's
aid, and accompanied the injured man to the hospital. Cheney said he
did not go himself because the ambulance was too crowded." Fox News
Questions that were being asked of the White House sounded like little
spoiled brats who did not receive an invitation to another child's
neighborhood birthday party. Yet the questions that were being asked
pointed to the biased feelings these people hold. They obviously hold
little to no respect for the President and the Vice President of these
United States.
As a politically motivated media was trying to force our attention on
the hunting accident, they, for the most part, completely ignored a
newsworthy story unfolding in the middle east. A Benedict Arnold named
Al Gore was accepting payment for degrading his own country and
countrymen. He was telling outright lies about Arabs being
indiscriminately roundup and mistreated by American officials.
Gore once again managed to stir up more hatred towards America and
Americans for political gain. Now that was the story to focus on.
Former Vice President Al Gore spoke making outrageous accusations that
were untruthful and inflammatorily dangerous.
"Al Gore told a mainly Saudi audience on Sunday that the U.S.
government committed 'terrible abuses' against Arabs after the Sept.
11, 2001, attacks, and that most Americans did not support such
treatment." Associated Press
Gore said Arabs had been "indiscriminately rounded up" and held in
"unforgivable" conditions. The former Vice President said the Bush
administration was playing into al-Qaida's hands by routinely blocking
Saudi visa applications.
"The thoughtless way in which visas are now handled, that is a
mistake," Gore said during the Jiddah Economic Forum. "The worst thing
we can possibly do is to cut off the channels of friendship and mutual
understanding between Saudi Arabia and the United States."
"Gore told the largely Saudi audience, many of them educated at U.S.
universities, that Arabs in the United States had been
'indiscriminately rounded up, often on minor charges of overstaying a
visa or not having a green card in proper order, and held in conditions
that were just unforgivable.' 'Unfortunately there have been terrible
abuses and it's wrong,' Gore said. 'I do want you to know that it does
not represent the desires or wishes or feelings of the majority of the
citizens of my country." Associated Press
(http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1107AP_Saudi_Gore.html?source=mypi)
These words spoken by Al Gore were practically treasonous and
dangerously unforgivable. Our daily news shows us pictures of wild eyed
religious fanatics killing and attacking innocent people while burning
anything in sight. The media shows people screaming death threats over
cartoons as their passions flair widely out of control. Yet Vice
President Al Gore opens his mouth and speaks monologues of words to
enflame our worst enemies.
Gore says "America indiscriminately rounded and held people in
unforgivable conditions." Who has Al Gore turned into? What happened to
this man? These are the questions America wants answered.
We are told that reporters are professionals. Yet, while listening to
them question the White House Press Secretary Scott McCullen, one
wonders, who are these impostors? Our American media has become nothing
less than over indulged and obliquely crass bunch of buffoons. They
mistakenly have a false sense of their own self importance.
Again America's media is focused on the wrong man and the wrong story.
How despicable and disingenuous, and out and out dangerous our media
has become because of their own political bias.
We can't afford much more of Al Gore's vitriolic words if we wish to
survive in today's very volatile world. With the al-Qaeda and
terrorists threats looming in the shadows, discourse needs to cease.
Also, we can't forget that 15 of the 19 hijackers who carried out the
attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were Saudi citizens.
Yet there stood Gore spouting nonsense where tempers rage against
America.
We can no longer afford anymore words of wisdom from Al Gore or a
biased media before bad things happen. America is much more unsafe
because of them.
As a tragedy unfolded for Vice President Dick Cheney and his good
friend, Saudi Arabia was the place where Al Gore performed his latest
deplorable ranting. What a dichotomy.
