The Neo-Con dream.
Let us suppose that the Neo-cons and their Republican and Business
friends got everything their greedy little hearts desired, what kind of
world would they make? Well if we take them at their word there would
be no Unions or at least a lot fewer unions and they would be severely
limited in how and when they could organize. There would be no minimum
wage, so you could either work for twenty cents an hour and starve or
just starve. No education unless you paid for it and no aid to the poor
at all because they believe that makes people lazy. But billions for
corporate aid because that makes them richer and that is really all
Governments good for, taking money from those who don't have enough
to make ends meet and giving it to those that have more then all the
rest of us combined.
The EPA would be gone and all environmental laws with it. It would be
okay to pollute the water and the air as long as you can make a profit.
So, no clean air or clean water unless you buy it from some
Corporation. The food and drug administration would be dismantled or
destroyed because that interferes with earnings. So what if a few
people die from tainted food and bad drugs. New customers are what it
takes to keep that old revenue stream flowing, dead ones don't pay
nearly so good and of course your relatives will not be able to sue
them because congress gave the Drug and insurance companies all
liability shields. Of course corporations will be free to sue you and
any small company they see as a threat.
There will be a lot of poor people because there will be no middle
class without union wages to hold up the wages of non-union workers.
The pay of workers will go ever downward so CEO salaries and corporate
profits can go ever upward. Of course Poverty would be a crime
punishable by prison and so will be sedition.
Medical care would be a luxury for those who can pay. The rest would be
encouraged to die quietly and not use up any resources best used for
the rich, although if you have marketable organs, they will keep you
alive long enough to harvest them.
Creationism will be taught in all the schools, which would be private
and for profit, so if you can't pay, see health care.
No parks because they cost money and it is better to get a buck an acre
or a log and strip mine and clear-cut the public lands for billions in
private profit, then preserve what is left of America's natural
wonders for future generations. It is also better to sell public land
to become private estates then to let the people enjoy their natural
legacy.
Freedom of speech will be limited to right wing ideas and Christian
beliefs. Liberal ideas and the truth will be outlawed because the right
wing hates the truth. They much prefer the elegant delusion that they
are all the chosen people and they made it by the sweat of their brows
and not because of their father's money, friends and influence.
Anyone that doesn't make billions in this country is just lazy because
as they will be gald to tell you, poverty is a choice. People choose to
be poor it is not the result of off shoring or bad luck or sickness in
family or lay offs or downturns or poor educational opportunities or no
educational opportunities or anything else that statistically leads
people to fall out of the middle class or never get there in the first
place. They tell themselves this for the same reason a thief tell
himself that your stuff is really his, it is easier to believe that
those you rob deserved it just as it is easier for the rich to believe
that the poor choose poverty over affluence it makes it easier to
support policies that are detrimental to those beneath them. The super
rich can screw you with a clear conscience, because they believe it is
all your fault.
There will be only one religion and not only would there not be no
abortions you would not be able to buy birth control and premarital sex
would be a crime. Of course the no abortion law will not apply to
forced sex workers in the Marianas or for black women because as
Bennett says black children are all just future criminals and they
should be aborted or maybe save the money and just sterilize everyone
that has dark skin, sound familiar. Just insert the word Jew for the
word black and you get the picture.
Yes if they get their way it will be a brave new world marked by
massive poverty, environmental degradation, cronyism, limited rights
for everyone who is not in the two percent, but especially for women
and minorities, low wages and no education or health care and of course
no economic growth because without a growing middle class no money to
buy the products that Corporations want to sell so no big profit
margins or CEO salaries because only two percent of the people will
have all the money and they will put it in what banks survive the
collapse and earn interest rather then invest and take a risk. In short
it will be like every other poor country where the elites control all
the wealth and ever one else scrounges in their garbage for food and
clothing.
