wish him well.

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but neither improving as a photographer
nor acceding to well-intentioned advice is a prerequisite to remaining active
in this newsgroup.

Bob

You are absolutely right...The big problem with Miguel was that he kept
posting rather mundane photos then *totally* ignored all advice.
I eventually just ignored him but much to my surprise he actually did
post a few really nice shots more recently.

So all in all, maybe he did learn something after all.
I think the main reason he was so hated around here was simply because
most folks must have wondered why he kept asking for advice if he never
took it.

So looking back and seeing that he eventually took a few decent shots...
maybe in the future I'll be a bit less hasty in judging others.

It irritated me that he never learned to cross-post and insisted on
multiple newsgroup postings. He should either single-post to one
group or cross-post if he wanted input from readers of both groups.

I don't recall that he *ever* asked for advice. He asked for
comments, but not for advice.

If I post a link to an image and say "C&C appreciated", that doesn't
mean that I am soliciting advice or that I will follow any advice
offered. It just means that I would like your opinion of what I have
submitted.

"What do you think of this?" is a different question from "How can I
do this better next time?".

Lots of things irritate you, move on.

One of the things that always amuses me on Usenet is the pot taking on
the role of the kettle.

I prefer to think of it as showing dexterity rather than a character defect :-)
