Needless to say, I have taken my 10D off ebay! I could never part with it

Would you want to buy a 10D? If so, how much would you pay?
So why would you expect anyone else to want to pay more...?
Yes, a 10D is so rediculously obsolete that you should not expect more
than a few coins to displose of it. Better than putting it into a
landfill. If you have a use for it, keep it. Otherwise, what are you
bitching for, when you wouldn't pay more yourself??
What I might be 'bitching' about is the fact that that 10D didn't come into
my life easily. Nope! It represents many weeks of extra hard work to come up
with the then price of £1,600. So, letting it go for buttons makes my life
so meaningless in a way.
Granted there are people who can just put it down to excperience, pick up
the pieces and get on with it, unfortunately I was never brought up with
that kinda attitude. If something was important and worth something 'then',
to me it's still worth something 'now'. Maybe it's sentimentatlity, I dunno,
but I feel like I'm dumping an old friend! That's not on, friends don't come
cheap.
You paid that money for its use for those years. The 'stuff' itself has
no value at all. It is only the use of it that has any real value. As
such, you either got your value already, or you wasted your money by not
using it enough to warrant what you paid for it. Either way, it will
have no value to you sitting in a drawer somewhere for the next several
years.
I have adopted a local school camera club. When I upgrade my equipment
(I am now shooting with a Canon 5D MK II), I donate the old equipment to
the club. This way kids get to use it and learn, and I get a tax
deduction plus the enjoyment of seeing those kids using it.
I'm old enough (62) that I learned decades ago not to hang on to stuff
just because I paid a lot (sometimes too much) for it sometime in the
past. If I did that, I would be paying a lot more money every month for
a huge storage unit...
