A friendly local store, VanCam (in Vancouver, BC) did a lovely job andThat sounds like a wise move. I wouldn't want to touch it.
The local camera shop here will clean a camera's sensor for $70. I'll
blow dust off of mine, but if it's oil or anything else that's not
dust I'd pop for the pro cleaning.
It will be interesting to hear what the experience is like after your sensor
has been spiffed.

with very prompt turnaround too. Thank heavens it wasn't necessary to
send it away to Pentax (which a 'low-something-filter' would have
required). Picture perfect now. Thanks to this newsgroup for warning
me not to poke about inside my camera.
