You might look at this another way, I have a huge number of digital
photos from by parents, taken all over the world with digital
cameras. I have dates for the images, but no positions. For me it
would be interesting to be able to go to Google Earth and tell where
they were when they took the photos. When I say where I mean more
then just somewhere in West Africa, but the town and the street as
well.

With this in mind I have been going through a bunch of my photos and
locating the position they were taken and adding that to the photo
collection. This way someone looking through my photos can tell just
where the photos were taken. Will anyone care, I don't know but I
think they might.

Part of all of this is a very simple thing I have done for years,
photograph my GPS unit from time to time when out photographing. I
might be able to figure out where we were when driving across the
country, but when going up the inside passage no way without the GSP.

I can go to Google Earth and see just where the photo was taken, what
is more anyone else looking at my photos can do the same.


That sounds like a kewl idea.

Saves a lot of discussions later as to exactly where that shot was taken.
