only if it will be .deb install packet software for Linux/Ubuntu
1) Do you believe there is a need for such software
yes, there is need for ALL new software
2) what compter & operating system do you have ?
Linux Ubuntu on 2 Gb RAM desktop PC Intel dual core...
3) how many photos are on your hard drive ?
few thousand
4) what software do you use ?
I used on Windows, many time ago Thumbplus which had all I need for a
photo database, very nice piece of software.
Please keep well separated the editing capability of photos and the
archival capability and potentiate the latter. The processing workflow
of a photo is made with professional (from camera firm or other)
software which work very fine. I have a mobile storage HD and
different DVD collections for the photos. The usb-hd is for quick
access while definitive (how long?) storage is based on DVD as tiff
image and raw originals.
All one need is a tree structure with names of Cd/DVD with stored
image that will have permanent associated collection of thumbnails
created when data insertion in database is made. The database archive
need to be readable by different programs and single file for easy
storage.
these are two my cents...thank you
.
