Photographing Celestial events

Ok, I just got an email link (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/
story/RTGAM.20081125.wtrio1125/BNStory/Science/home) regarding the
moon, jupiter and venus all coming together this weekend. I was
wondering what kind of setting I would use to take photos of celestial
things like this.
My kit is as follows :
Nikon D50
18-55mm Kit Lens
75-300mm Telephoto Lens
55mm Portait lens (f1.8)
Now, I'm going to assume the 300mm will be the best (that's about
450mm I believe with the D50s sensor). Tripod obviously, but what
kind of exposure should I be looking at? I was thinking around a 4 or
5 second exposure...should I go longer for this? any help provided is
appreciated.
