The Corel site doesn't mention DNG in the list of supported RAW
formats, though it says version 11 has limited DNG support, and
wanting 'Canon' support isn't enough - you need to check that it
supports *your* Canon as they all produce slightly different files:

The product looks to be well behind for some makes - for example the
Olympus E-500 has been replaced twice, but neither model is listed.
It's also not clear what support is offered - if it simply converts to
JPG or PSPIMAGE that's not much use, one needs to be able to control
white balance, exposure and so on.
I'm not planning on selling CS3 so I have RAW converter there. I figure
even if Corel's program can't read any RAW, it will, at worst, be a
minor inconvenience.
Since the entire Corel program is the cost of a few PS filters, I
suppose even if it's better for only a few ops, it'll pay for itself.
I'm also believing that we're better off with competing products rather
than the almost monopoly that PS has now. A newcomer to the hobby may
believe that there is only one product - PS / PSE.
I know that back when it was JASC in version 8 and the competing PS
version, that most non-pros would have better results with the JASC
product, but for some reason, all the media went PS crazy disregarding
all other product offerings.
Well, I guess we also saw that with other areas like Microsoft Office.
I'm a believer in competition.
In their dreams many PSP users think PSP and even CorelDraw can compete
with Adobe Photoshop, it started way way way back sometime in around mid or
late 90's when someone wrote an article PSP is almost as good as Photoshop
(or a clone of Photoshop). Then many people jumped in and most PSP users
still tell the same fairy these days, and it finally rested in piece after
Corel puts a final nail to its coffin.
And as I have always suggested people world better to start with thing
they end up using at the end, and I even encourage my grandkids to use
Photoshop instead of all those freebie out there. Yup! many PSP users even
say they can transfer most if not all their PSP experiences to Photoshop,
but that is their other dream too, because unlike the newbie they will have
to spend time to undo the commands (like bad habits) of PSP or other's with
lot of complaining before they can start learning.- Hide quoted text -

I don't agree. For many, if not the vast majority of people, PSP (and
several other programs) can compete just fine with Photoshop. Why?
Because the programs do what they need them to do.
I have to use Photoshop extended. No other program comes close to
providing the functionality when I need it (and my customers expect me
to use it), but I could do 80% of what I usually do in PSP, or even
Gimp. Most people could do 100%.
