No, "it" doesn't. A link to a Flickr site can be posted to any
newsgroup. "It" is a method of posting a photo.

Posting a link to a photograph on Flickr or a link to any other photo on the internet in a newsgroup is not the same thing as posting a photo in the newsgroup. The differences between posting a link in a newsgroup and posting a photo in a newsgroup are considerable. And that's a fact Jack.

I agree with Siva Desa, the other poster when he expressed the sentiment: "... if it makes you happy we can use your definition".
