In the past I have saved the Nikon nef image just as it came out of the
camera, a Tiff of the image as edited in Camera RAW, as well as an edited
jpg file. That became tiresome so I reduced the saved files to the original
nef file and the edited jpg image. Usually I don't go back and re-edit
files. I'm wondering what others think about this practice.
Also Camera Raw produces an XMP file that I can't open in Windows Vista or
XP or the PE6 program that created it. According to Google it's an
Extensible Metadata Platform. It's about the same size as the RAW file and
I have been deleting it. I really have no idea what I should be doing with
this file.
I think you are saving the right files, there is really not much point
to saving the tiff file.

Thanks.
