It is not me who is cofused but those who thinks that rubbish snapshots are of interest to the group. As I pointed out in my OP this group is for people to discuss photographic.technique, technology and art. If people must post links to galleries, at least make sure the photos are of quality. If unsure ask opinion and do not assume they are worth viewing.
Now you have me confused. I guess I must confuse easily, but how does one get an opinion on the merits of an image[s] without posting the image[s].

There is a difference with "please look at my photos, I think they are great" and "please look at my photos and tell me what you think".
Simple solution. Don't look and don't comment if the poster doesn't ask the way you would like.
I have not yet lost the ability to learn, even from some shots that many would readily call trash.
Why stifle a person who has good, but as yet undeveloped potential, simply because you don't like the way someone else asks you to look at their images.
