Can anyone recommend a program (preferably free) for stitching
together Panoramas? My camera Kodak Z 1275 will do it
automatically for horizontal, but I'd like to get some height and
do vertical.
Serif PanoramaPlus is simple to use and is based on the autostitch
algorithm.
results.
Surely there's no need to pay for an application that uses the
autistich engine, when you can get autostitch itself for free..
No need perhaps, but the P+ interface is much simpler and there's no
requirement to download a fresh version every few months.
Crikey...The autostitch interface simply involves selecting the folder
that contains the images to be stitched, and clicking "Go"...It's simpler
than that?....Wow...
OK if you don't miss drag and drop, and wouldn't like auto rotate of images
before/after stitching it may be OK for you. Personally, I'm annoyed by the
way it doesn't remember which folder you were last at, so you have to
re-navigate to your images each time. I'm not really complaining, it is left
deliberately clunky because users will pay for a more refined version. That
way, the developers get their money.
I agree with you that having to DL a new version every month or two is a
right pain in the arse....
